- בְּדִיI, בְּדָא ch. sam(בדי, בדאto dig out), to invent. Targ. Y. II, Num. 16:28 בְּדֵית (Var. בָּדִית). Ithpa. אִתְבַּדִּי to be declared wrong, to be mistaken. Y.Yeb.VIII, 9c עברת בִּידָּךְ תלתא נהרין ואִיתְבַּדַּת thy story crossed three rivers (coming from Babylonia) and is found to be a mistake; Y.Sabb.II, 9a top ואיתבר׳ (corr. acc.).
